The Green River is subject to a myriad of natural and man-made influences that conspire to put the River’s long-term health at risk.

The Green needs a unifying advocate to speak on its behalf - and that voice is the Green River Conservancy.

Our Mission

Safeguarding the Future of the Green River Ecosystem

The Green River Conservancy's (GRC) mission is to ensure the health and longevity of the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Reservoir through community collaboration, hands-on stewardship, education, scientific research, and advocacy.

While our primary focus is the 30 miles below Flaming Gorge, we acknowledge and embrace the far-reaching connectedness of the watershed. This ecosystem is increasingly vulnerable due to warmer temperatures and declining precipitation, high-impact recreational activities, and inadequate resource management.
